First Weekend of Lovecraft and Review on Arts Beat LA by Devereau Chumrau

We opened the remount of LOVECRAFT: Nightmare Suite this past weekend.

It was such a joy to step back onto stage with my castmates.

And of course I am thrilled to be reviewed so kindly after the opening weekend by Pauline Adamek at ArtsBeatLA.

Devereau Chumrau is a standout, narrating the second tale—The Cats of Ulthar—with relish while adopting smooth and expressive delivery.

The show runs through March 2, so if you haven't come to still it, there is still time.

I'm excited to write to you guys about the opening my new show, the remount of Lovecraft: Nightmare Suite. We had a very successful run the first time around (LA WeeklyLAist for example) that we were asked to bring it back! So for those of you who missed it the first time, here's your chance.

I am excited to work with my grad school classmate, Angela Sauer, with Frank Blocker, who starred with me in the Mystery Plays, as well as Andrew Fromer, all joining the cast this time around. And as always it is such a joy to work with Dan Spurgeon, Daniel Jimenez, Anna Safar, Mark Souza and Steve Peterson.

In other news, I've started guest posting on Ryan Nance's blog, 5 things I learned today. As most of you know, I've been getting into yoga more and more recently, so I was thrilled to pick this amazing set of images documenting the history of yoga, and then a fun collection of kids styled to resemble Golden Globe red carpet celebrities. Check them out, and look out for more.

"It’s a chilling Halloween treat you’ll be glad to experience."

"What I saw was nothing short of spectacular. An ensemble of extremely talented actors delivered pieces of Lovecraft’s text as adapted monologues while the set and props breathed life into each piece. Technically speaking the show is a deft display of ingenuity, one not hard to find captivating."

"Lovecraft: Nightmare Suite is a fun and imaginative night of theatre perfect for getting in the Halloween mood…. Good, eerie Halloween fun"

"A claustrophobia of the emotions begins to grow…. One feels transported to another place and another time…. The result is eighty minutes of shadows we increasingly realize are anything but empty."

"A treat to experience"
"A deftly directed and well-acted show that serves quite well as an early Halloween treat…. An outstanding and entertaining production.”
